Decision making checklist based on PMI

In project management we make decisions on a daily basis. Most are relatively unimportant; some are critical and will cause the project to be successful or to fail. To ensure we make rational, unbiased decisions, critical decision-making requires you to:

  1. Obtain complete and accurate data

  2. - Exam your logic and your biases

  3. - Examine your premises

  4. - Be aware of your motivations

  5. - Think through both short-term and long-term impacts

  6. - Know your own limits (be humble)

  7. - Check with others

  8. - Be comfortable with resulting uncertainty
